How BeoPlay S8 Boosts Your Music Streaming Experience

B&O PLAY by BANG & OLUFSEN proudly introduces BeoPlay S8–a highly flexible and compact stereo system that will bring a whole new and invigorating life to your music streaming experiences. Know what's the best thing? You can connect to it any way you want!

Stunning, goose bump inducing sound meets cool elegance with BeoPlay S8 – a new subwoofer and speaker set from B&O PLAY that gives you the Bang & Olufsen Signature Sound to power up, enhance or even transform your music streaming experiences.

BeoPlay S8 is inspired by the popular Beolab 14 from Bang & Olufsen and it is definitely in a class of its own, when it comes to stereo speakers. The visual design of both the satellite speakers and the sculptural subwoofer is recognizable, cool Scandinavian subtlety topped with that distinctive edge that makes it a perfect choice for design-oriented customers.

The craftsmanship of BeoPlay S8 is best in class, with premium quality materials like pearl-blasted aluminium, crafted from single pieces of aluminium to bring you acoustic stability and precision, overall solidity and last but not least a sleek uninterrupted finish.  The multitude of placement options offered by the stereo system makes it flexible enough to fit into the mobile lives of the youthful B&O PLAY audience.

You can place the subwoofer centrally, in a corner or behind a piece of furniture. You can place the satellite speakers on wall brackets or table stands - whatever suits your needs, preferences and lifestyle. And, if you combine the above-mentioned qualities like outstanding sound, exceptional design and a wealth of ways to place S8 with its easy and hassle-free setup, you’ve got an exclusive package that both fits and stands out while being attractive to all ages and genders.

It’s all about the sound!
The sound profile of BeoPlay S8 is the Bang & Olufsen Signature Sound; designed to bring you sound the way the artist intended it – no tweaks and no over-emphasized elements. Just clean, honest sound that will make you go: Wow!

The 8-inch subwoofer boasts a convincing bass performance despite its relative physical compactness - handling the frequency range from 20-150 Hz with ease. A dedicated 280 Watt class D amplifier powers the subwoofer.

The satellite speakers feature 2.5-inch full range speaker drivers, each powered by a dedicated 140 Watt class D amplifier, placed inside the subwoofer – and handling individual equalization for each driver unit making it a truly active stereo speaker system.

Connect it any way you want!

Connect your BeoPlay S8 to streaming hubs like Apple’s AirPort Express, Sonos Connect or almost any other streaming device out there – or hook it up to your “regular” audio amplifier or receiver for a real blast of B&O PLAY. On top of that, you can even connect BeoPlay S8 to your BeoPlay V1 or any Bang & Olufsen television – and bring even more life to your television experiences.

When you buy BeoPlay S8 everything is in the box; table stands, wall brackets and all the cables needed – you’ve just got to plug it into the source and you’re good to go.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER
BeoPlay S8 was designed by Torsten Valeur, an award-winning Danish industrial designer. Valeur is the Head of the legendary David Lewis Designers – and a designer that pursues the original while aspiring to find solutions that are surprising at first glance – and then quickly accepted as obvious and intuitive.

Zomato Redefines Restaurant Discovery With Its Latest Product Revamp

Zomato, the restaurant search and discovery service, has rolled out a completely revamped version of its web and mobile product. Building on its already rich and exhaustive restaurant database, and ratings and reviews from its millions of monthly users, Zomato has now added a new, social layer to restaurant discovery - personalized recommendations from people whose opinions you choose to value.

“Even before the advent of the internet, people relied on social opinions for restaurant discovery. In our endless discussions with our users, we realized this behavior is still widely prevalent, but not catered to effectively by existing local discovery tools or review websites. With our new product, we want to cater to that intrinsic behavior in an amplified, social setting”, said Deepinder Goyal, Founder & CEO of Zomato.

Zomato’s revamped product is built on two simple pillars of thought – that individual preferences vary, and that building a more trusted ecosystem of recommendations will result in quicker and easier decision-making

From personalized search results to quickly adding restaurants to your Wishlist from anywhere on the site or app, Zomato has made restaurant discovery very swift and highly personalized. Among the new features is a FoodFeed that lets users see updates and activities from their network on Zomato, as well as restaurants visited, rated and reviewed - encouraging a more social, real-time discovery of restaurants. With this enhanced social layer, users will be able to filter search results to display recommendations from their network, i.e. the people they choose to trust and follow. To enable this personalized experience, Zomato will now be a login-only service.

The latest update also comes with a lot of changes to the design and user experience that make the product easier to use than ever before. For example, the search flow has been revamped completely to help users discover restaurants with fewer clicks, thereby offering a superior product experience.

Restaurant ratings have been normalized to prevent too many restaurants being clustered within a certain range, and the search algorithm has been tweaked to show more relevant results when users are searching for restaurants. Enhanced spam-control measures have been implemented to keep out junk reviews. Users can now also easily find and invite friends to Zomato from other social networks.

“We felt it was time to stop taking small steps forward in terms of our product. This is the biggest leap we’ve taken, and that’s meant effectively rebuilding Zomato from scratch in a lot of respects. A lot of effort has gone into creating the new Zomato, and we’re very excited with the way it looks and works; we hope our users love it as much as we do”, Deepinder added.

Zomato also added another country to its growing list of international locations today, with the launch of its section for Portugal. The citizens of Lisbon can now choose from over 9500 dining options in the city. The website and mobile apps will be available in Portuguese as well as English.

About Zomato

Zomato is an online and mobile restaurant discovery service providing in-depth information for over 221,000 restaurants across 12 countries. Zomato's core content features include menus, photos and geocoded coordinates for restaurants; allowing users to rate and review restaurants, as well as create their own network of foodies.

Zomato currently sees over 16 million monthly visits globally, across its web and mobile platforms, from people searching for places to go out for a meal, get home delivery, catch up at a cafe, or enjoy the local nightlife. The highly targeted platform makes it convenient for restaurateurs to interact with customers who are looking for dining options.

Zomato was started in Delhi in 2008 by Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah. The company has since expanded its services to 41 cities across India, UK, UAE, South Africa, New Zealand, the Philippines, Portugal, Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Qatar.
